​Big Fish Art Studio was founded and established by the gifted Marius Badenhorts. Marius is a Sout-African architect, urban designer and accomplished watercolor and urban sketching artist based in Pretoria. 

Marius' journey as an artist grew naturally from a lifelong passion for sketching, observation, and the visual interpretation of place. Influenced by the landscapes, urban environments, and everyday scenes that surround him, Badenhorst’s watercolor paintings capture the subtle relationship between light, shadow, atmosphere, and form. 

Watercolour, with its balance of control and unpredictability, remains his preferred medium. He is particularly drawn to its ability to convey atmosphere and emotion while preserving the freshness of a scene. 

Through his paintings, he seeks not merely to record a landscape or structure, but to communicate the experience of being present within it.Marius believe that art can transform us and that we were all created with a creativity ability.

At Big Fish Art Studio, Marius lives out his passion through transferring his skills to other individuals through energetic and passionate classes.

He creates a welcoming creative space where beginners and experienced artists can explore watercolor, sketching, and illustration through inspiring classes and hands-on workshops.
